JOYCE A. KEOUGH

Joyce A. Keough of Suffern died February 23, 2000 at the age of 58 years. Joyce was born in the Bronx on February 11, 1942 to Abraham and Jeanette (Filer) Tracten and was a former resident of White Plains. She was a Suffern resident for 30 years. A graduate of the Farmingdale Agriculture and Technical School with a Degree in Dental Hygiene, Joyce worked as a Dental Hygienist in Larchmont. In Rockland she worked as a legal bookkeeper for several law firms, and was "THE BOSS" of her husband's planning consultant firm. In the Village of Suffern she was a one time Chairwoman of the Suffern Democratic Committee. She served on the Village Recycling Committee, Sewer Rent Grievance Board, Treasurer of the Suffern Village Museum, and Suffern Railway Museum. She was Secretary of the Board of Managers of Bon-Aire Condominium II for 28 years. Joyce played an active role in the Suffern Centennial Celebration and was currently serving on the Suffern Millennium Committee, and was on several occasions the narrator for the annual December 7th Commemoration. In the Town of Ramapo, she served as secretary of the Irish Twinning Committee. Joyce was a PAUL HARRIS Fellow. Joyce is survived by her loving husband Jack, one brother, Mark Tracten and his wife Jodi, two sisters-in-law, Frances Murphy and Nancy Higgins and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held on Sunday at 11 AM at the Scarr Funeral Home, Rt. 202, Suffern. Shiva will be at the home of Jack Keough until Tuesday evening.
