Printing to HP Laserjet 1000 in Mac OSX
Here's a workaround I discovered on how to use my HP Laserjet 1000 in Mac OSX 10.4.8 on my 17" PowerBook G4. If you follow these instructions exactly, you should have no problems: To install the SDK Mono CUPS sample driver and connect it to an HP LaserJet 1000 via USB:
Click here to download the driver.
Ensure that the printer is connected to the system via USB and powered on.
Reboot the Mac system if the printer was connected after the last reboot.
Open the SDKMono.dmg driver file that you downloaded from the above link and extract and browse to the newly extracted volume in the Finder .
Execute MonoInstall.pkg file and complete the installation process.
Open System Preferences and select the Print & Fax icon.
Click the "Add" button while holding the ALT key. (This will delete all currently installed printers but will ensure a successful installation. You will have to install your other printers again later if desired.
Choose "hp LaserJet 1000" which should appear at the bottom of the list.
From the "Printer Model" pop-up menu choose "ESP"
From the list of models that appears below the Printer Model selection choose the "Zenographics SDK Mono CUPS v1.1" driver (bottom of the list), then click the "Add" button at the bottom of the dialog.
That's should be it. You should now be able to print to your HP Laserjet 1000 from your Mac!
