DEXTER LTD (IN ADMINISTRATIVE RECEIVERSHIP) v EDWINA AMETHYST
HARLEY (2001)
When applying the concept of "the harmful event" to a constructive
claim based on knowing receipt or dishonest assistance, for the purpose of
establishing that the High Court had jurisdiction over a defendant domiciled in
Spain pursuant to Art.5(3) Brussels Convention, it was not sufficient simply to
point to acts done within the jurisdiction if those acts had nothing to do with
the defendant. The harmful event had to be a harmful event on the part of the
defendant.
